The intention with this meta bug is to track the progress of the effort to implement a complete WebRTC solution in WebKit. Announcement on webkit-dev: https://lists.webkit.org/pipermail/webkit-dev/2015-January/027196.html This bug is intended to replace bug 56459 Tags: getUserMedia, getUserMedia(), MediaDevices, PeerConnection, RTCPeerConnection, OpenWebRTC
Thank you! Really don't want to leave WebKit users behind when we move forward with a getUserMedia -> web audio API implementation for some analog sensor DSP. It seems odd to me as a random external developer that the web audio API is so similar to CoreAudio, yet is missing input capabilities entirely. So I very much appreciate having this get looked at.
Hello everyone Sorry to bug you here but can I ask what the current status is of the getUserMedia implementation for Safari? I can see that there are some unresolved dependencies but they are more WebRTC related. Just would like to know an estimate when the getUserMedia implementation is stable and might get out? Many thanks - I bet this information would be gold and may other developers/project would depend on it. - Michael
AFAIK Apple doesn't announce in advance the upcoming features of Safari. This meta-bug is mostly about the WebKitGTK port (so, not Safari). Although some cross-platform code is shared by WebKitGTK and the Mac port, someone would need to work on the platform integration for WebRTC on Mac.
Understand. Thanks Philippe.
