Rendering under 10.4.6 is different from 10.4.5 and earlier, due to changes to image decoding (and possibly other areas). Presumably, since people running the tests and committing new results to the repository are using 10.4.6, the build slaves would give better results if they were updated too.
Brady, I think you mentioned that you would have a look into this?
Maybe we can pull this off sometime soon (ie, this week). This bug may predate the recent software update, but 10.4.7 is going to be "the standard" so we should go all the way there. Also to be considered is upgrade XCode on the bots to 2.3 - The compilation message "Xcode Version 2.3 or later is required to build WebKit. You have an earlier version of Xcode, thus the build will most likely fail." is obviously not TRUE as it is building okay with 2.2, but I'll talk to Tim Hatcher about it shortly...
(In reply to comment #2) > "Xcode Version 2.3 or later is required to build WebKit. You have an > earlier version of Xcode, thus the build will most likely fail." is obviously > not TRUE as it is building okay with 2.2 This was more true when the projects were using DWARF, but even without that, Xcode 2.2 may ignore or even remove some new features in the project files (such as quoting of search paths), and re-adds obsolete cruft that causes spurious changes to the project files. Maybe the language here is too strong, indeed.
We're scheduling a meeting to start upgrading the OS and possibly XCode for early next week - around 7-11-06. We'll keep the progress in this bug.
As of today (7-11-06) all OSX build bots are running 10.4.7. Over the next day or so we should also have upgraded them all to XCode 2.3
