This happens alot on YouTube, where the media controls are always visible (which itself only happens about half of the time), even though YouTube has their own controls that are positioned on top of the <video> element.

This is only with the Modern Media Controls experimental flag on, correct?

Yup.

On another note, I completely forgot that these flags existed, and I am so glad I did cause I wanted to turn that off... :P

This should be fixed as of https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=165175. Devin, would you mind checking that is the case?

I originally tested this in STP 18, but after downloading the latest nightly (and running a local build) it seems to work fine.  I watched about a dozen videos on YouTube and tried a few on Vimeo as well.  👍
