I'm sometimes getting layout pixel test failures where the only difference between the success image and the failure image is the presence/absence of the text insertion point.

One example is editing/pasteboard/4944770-1. I'll attach the success and failure pictures.

Maybe we should probably make the text insertion point always draw. Some tests are about differences in its position, such as editing/execCommand/indent-list-item (though that one at least fails the non-pixel version of the layout test too).
