I rely on Reading List often. Some links may take me to a nefarious website. I used to be able to hover over a link and look to the bottom status bar to see where the URL pointed to. Now, I have to exit Reading List for that ability.

Reader and the status bar are part of Safari, not WebKit. Please file bug reports about Safari functionality at <http://bugreport.apple.com/>.
