[META] static scrolling example is very slow Attached is a (slightly modified) version of a scrolling test from another member of the Chrome team. Both Safari and Chrome are slow at scrolling this (simple static page!)

The -webkit-box-shadows appear to be responsible for the majority of the paint time cost.

Lots of clipping for shadows.
