Since I've updated from 10.7 to 10.8 webkit doesn't show the menu entry "Check for update". I am using webkit on 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8. It's only missing on 10.8 Is this a known bug or is it a feature. I couldn't find anything.

I've found out more. After updating to 10.8 on my working machine the same problem appeared. It's is when I start webkit from dashboard not "check for Webkit update" is not there. The process list looks like: $ ps ax | grep WebKit 20554 ?? S 0:03.61 /Applications/Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/SafariForWebKitDevelopment /Applications/WebKit.app/Contents/Resources/start.html -psn_0_6788729 20556 ?? S 0:01.37 /Applications/WebKit.app/Contents/Frameworks/10.8/WebKit2.framework/WebProcess.app/Contents/MacOS/WebProcess /Applications/WebKit.app/Contents/Frameworks/10.8/WebKit2.framework/WebKit2 -type webprocess -servicename com.apple.WebKit.WebProcess-20554-0x1040ac0c0 -client-identifier com.apple.Safari -ui-process-name SafariForWebKitDevelopment -AppleLanguages ('en_US') BUT - when I start with /Applications/WebKit.app/Contents/MacOS/WebKit & All looks fine. The missing menu item it then there again. The process list looks nearby the same except this line. 20462 s001 S 0:28.21 /Applications/Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/SafariForWebKitDevelopment /Applications/WebKit.app/Contents/Resources/start.html All the best.
