Summary
Keynote html exports are unreadable

Keynote html exports are unreadable. You can read them with Firefox, but not with Chrome nor Safari (any version)… This bug can now be considered a classic.

Can you please be more specific? What exactly happens, and in what configuration (OS version, Safari version, are you using a nightly)? Can you attach an example archive of an export that is unreadable?

Compressed folder with a simple (no anim.) Keynote exported as HTML Still a simple sequence of slides, when you export it as html it fails… Not only in Nightly builds, but in Safari and Chrome in different versions and system versions. Only works with FF.

What I'm seeing with this attachment is intentional behavior. Local HTML files used to be dangerous, because they could read your secret files and quietly upload those to remote servers. They are no longer allowed to read other local files. A Keynote export works in Safari on local machine where you create it, but not after receiving it over e-mail or downloading an archive from Web. This is because files from Internet have a quarantine extended attribute set in file system. One can disable the protection altogether via Safari's Develop menu. There were some tweaks to this behavior in OS X 10.8.2, so make sure to be testing with this release. Chrome has similar, yet different measures, and I don't know if there is any workaround for Chrome.
