Case 1: Sync XHR breaks http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=134998 testcase: http://jsbin.com/anakiv/4 Case 2: onreadystatechange is suppressed while modal dialog is showing http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=133443 testcase: http://jsbin.com/osobop/3 Both cases work fine under safari 5.1.7, Chrome 19, broken in safari 6, webkit nightly and Chrome 20+
