Created attachment 144795 [details] Screen shot for Did you know feature. This is a feature request for showcasing inspector features in a more intuitive way. There are lots of features(existing/upcoming) in inspector which might go unnoticed and difficult to find. So the idea is to get those highlighted in more efficient way. Moreover "Did You know" feature can be extended in the form of "Dynamic Help" which will provide contextual help. For ex. if we are in sources panel with minified js file, we can prompt user with "Dynamic Help" by showing features of script panel like "Pretty Print {} ". Moreover this is a useful feature in most of the prominent ide's also. The attached screenshot is just for illustration purposes.

I would like to know the feedback from the web-inspector community on this. I also intend to work on this feature and will be glad to get feedback/suggestions.

Prior to doing any actual work, we should wait for pfeldman's feedback, since he may have some ideas about the feature design.

We'd like to have something less intrusive in the UI. Such as a single status line or top console line containing the hint along with the link to the inspector / devtools tutorials providing more details.

Closing as invalid, as this bug pertains to the old inspector UI and/or its tests. Please file a new bug (https://www.webkit.org/new-inspector-bug) if the bug/feature/issue is still relevant to WebKit trunk.
