Screen recording showing the above happenings

The Chromium folk asked me to re-post this here. It's their bugID 102368 : http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=102368

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Visit Google Reader
2. Have "Comics Curmudgeon" in your feed
3. Scroll so a comic is around the middle of the screen
4. two-finger-scroll horizotnally

What is the expected result?

It scrolls in one piece

What happens instead?

Scrolls piecemeal.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

Attached a screen movie showing what I'm seeing.

Per comments in the chromium bug this also happens in WebKit nightlies using Safari. Quite an unusual effect.

Probably compositing/tiled layer stuff.
