This bug is also in Radar as <rdar://4285740> 10/4/05 11:09 AM Chris Petersen: * SUMMARY If a user attempts to visit any of these three sites using any Safari version (1.2 - 2.0.2), they get redirected to a page that states "We are sorry. But we do not support the version of the browser you are using. Our site works best with the following browsers. Mac Users: NS 7 or above and Mozilla (including firefox) 1.0 and above." * STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Run any version of Safari (1.2 - 2.0.2) and attempt to load http://www.gap.com, http:// www.oldnavy.com, or http://www.bananarepublic.com 2. Page redirect to a different site that states message: "We are sorry. But we do not support the version of the browser you are using. Our site works best with the following browsers. Mac Users: NS 7 or above and Mozilla (including firefox) 1.0 and above."

Using User-Agent Mozilla 1.1 this site actually works perfectly. Someone should evangelize these guys, so i'm thinking: Mark Malone :).

I am unable to reproduce the issue any longer. I did experience the issue a few months ago myself, but it appears that http://www.gap.com will load as expected without changing the User-Agent. Using version 2.0.3 (417.8)

Same here, closing as worksforme, removing Hitlist keyword.

Re-adding HitList keyword. We need to be able to track HitList bugs that have been fixed.

Unfortunately, the WebKit nightly builds still get the "your browser sucks" page here: http://www.gap.com/browse/info.do?cid=8768 Their browser-sniffing code could still use some work, but I'm not sure whether it's worth pursuing. It'd be nice if they did something like Yahoo's Graded Browser Support. http://developer.yahoo.net/yui/articles/gbs/gbs.html

The original issue mentioned in this bug has been resolved, so I'm closing it. The new issues mentioned have their own bugs now.
