Is this a regression from Safari 5.1, or from Safari 5.0.5?

I am pretty sure this worked in 5.0.5., but it fails in Safari 5.1. I can check this again.. Could you tell me which Webkit version was the stable one in Safari 5.0.5.

That's expected - there were too many changes in 5.1 to maintain compatibility with old WebKit.

No longer an issue for me. Closing as WorksForMe in latest Safari 16.5 on MacOS 12.6.6.
