Summary [Qt] The video of some flash objects are not shown on Qt WebKit 2.0

Reported 2010-12-04 23:24:10 PST
There are several flash objects that are not shown in Qt WebKit 4.7, some of which are videos, here are some known examples. godtube.com (video), ask.com/videos, metacafe.com, nba.com (the score applet) These flash objects are embedded in javascript. Videos on the first three sites play the sound but not the video, with a blank screen shown on the video. This behavior is seen in Konqueror on WebKit, Rekonq and Arora.

I would consider this the worst bug I see in Qt WebKit 4.7. Those flash objects work well in KHTML, except the videos on Ask.com .

Created attachment 76455 [details] nba.com in Arora and KHTML in Konqueror 4.5. Clearly, the score applet is missing in Arora running on Qt WebKit 4.7.

The videos on godtube.com are now working in Qt WebKit. The other three examples still do not work in Qt WebKit, except for in "Web Browser - A simple web browser (plasma-windowed)" on the KDE.

www.nba.com works fine with QtWebKit 2.1. Unfortunately the version that comes with Qt 4.7.x is QtWebKit 2.0.

(In reply to comment #4) > www.nba.com works fine with QtWebKit 2.1. Unfortunately the version that comes with Qt 4.7.x is QtWebKit 2.0. Closing then.

Now all the sites that are listed are now working as intended in both Arora and rekonq running Qt WebKit 2.0. They have all worked as intended on the plasma-windowed Web Browser (WebKit) included in KDE. I am now viewing these pages on GNOME. Maybe a KDE bug. Mark as invalid.
