With a input element that uses a type=search, placing focus in the field doesn't remove it's default text. This is easily reproducible at http://www.apple.com but I have a simple text case the reproduces it. This problem first started with NB r67358. This issue doesn't happen in stock Safari 5.0.2 under 10.6.4. 1) Launch Webkit NB r67358 and go to http://www.apple.com/ 2) On the page, click in the Search field. Notice the caret appears in the field BUT the Search text remains. You can verify this same issue in the attached text case. Open test case in NB r67358 Click in field to place focus Click on page to remove focus from field Click back in field again. This time search text remains in field.

Correcting summary: we only put a single revision number when it's known that it was that revision that caused the problem.

> This is easily reproducible at http://www.apple.com I cannot reproduce this with ToT, seems to have been already fixed. > Open test case in NB r67358 There is no test case attached.
