RESOLVED DUPLICATE of
bug 37169
40475
Wrong computed height for replaced elements with percentage height
https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40475
Summary
Wrong computed height for replaced elements with percentage height
Anders Edenbrandt
Reported
2010-06-11 07:03:05 PDT
According to CSS 2.1 section 10.6.2, replaced elements with a percentage height should have a computed height of 'auto' if the containing block does not have an explicit height. For example, an image element like this should be shown as a square:

Other browsers (IE8, Firefox, Opera) get this right, provided they are in strict mode.
