Bug demo

Odd bug in which a single white space collapses after an absolutely positioned inline is adjacent to another inline element. Demo is attached. If you remove the wrapper span, or take away the 'em' it works fine. It's just in this setup it collapses. Firefox and IE are fine, it's just webkit based browsers such as Safari and Chrome which have a problem.

All browsers (Safari 16.5, Chrome Canary 116 and Firefox Nightly 115) are rendering this demo same. Marking this as 'RESOLVED WONTFIX' because it was never confirmed to be an issue and is still ' Unconfirmed'.
