Test case: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd"> <html><head><style type="text/css"> div { float: left; clear: left; margin: 3px; } span { border: 1px solid; } </style></head><body> <!-- does not show right border --> <div><span>With trailing space, no width </span></div> <!-- does show right border --> <div><span>No trailing space, no width</span></div> <div style="width: 40ex;"><span>With trailing space, has width </span></div> <div style="width: 40ex;"><span>No trailing space, has width</span></div> </body></html> I expect there to be a full border on all elements.

Created attachment 459956 [details] Safari 15.5 matches other browsers I am not able to reproduce this bug using attached test case in Safari 15.5 on macOS 12.4. All other browsers also matches in the output as visible in the screenshot. Testcase - https://jsfiddle.net/m8zkeqsp/show I think this can be closed as "RESOLVED CONFIGURATION CHANGED". Thanks!
