Description Olav 2009-12-07 10:45:42 PST
I've tried this in both Midori (compiled from the latest git), and the latest Chromium ubuntu ppa, and it doesn't work in either of them. Not sure what version of webkit these use, so I just set it to nightly build.

When I go to https://its.vaf.no/ , a school site, to log in (htpasswd-style login box), and I put in my login details, it won't accept it. The box pops up again, and when I try again, the same happens over and over again. In my username, there's a \ sign (ped\username), and in my password I have æ, ø, å. I don't if it's the \ or the æ, ø and/or å that's causing it, but it's very annoying.

OS: Kubuntu 9.10
Language: Norwegian Bokmål
Browsers: Chromium and Midori

I'd be happy to provide you with more information, just ask, and I'll do my best.

I'm not sure if it's related but my guess is that it has common behaviour, so you should check also https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57817
