To reproduce, 
/usr/libexec/webkitgtk-6.0/MiniBrowser --private https://web.archive.org/web/20251012232030/https://boisesest.ca/
(or load it in Epiphany stable or TP)

…and then scroll up and down the front page's main carousel header. Compared to Firefox, WebKitGTK is very laggy, as can be seen here: https://youtu.be/mwdH5TiTJAM

This is on my desktop computer running GNOME 49.5 (Wayland) on Fedora 43 with  open source AMD graphics.

Sysprof 49 capture

This is a performance profile capture of Fedora 49's MiniBrowser (WebKitGTK 2.50.5) with full debug symbols for everything. The first half of the capture is waiting for the page to load, the second half is me scrolling up and down repeatedly with my discrete mouse wheel.
