We initially enabled "Threaded Time-based Animations" by default in 307441@main but it was bumped down to "preview" in 307537@main due to some Apple-internal infrastructure failures. Some key fixes (307912@main, 307913@main, 307965@main, 307993@main, 308011@main, 309053@main, 309058@main) in that area landed since then and it should be possible to re-enable this feature.
