To reproduce: 1. Go to http://www.google.com/reader 2. Log in The default favicon is displayed. But the HTML source includes this tag in the <head>: <link href="/reader/ui/favicon.ico" rel="SHORTCUT ICON">

This and bug 29087 might have the same cause.

Interesting. I directly navigated to <http://www.google.com/reader/ui/favicon.ico>, and now when I go to Google Reader the custom favicon is displayed!

Firefox and IE correctly show the custom favicon.

Google Reader doesn't exist anymore.
