There is a persistent problem with Webkit/Safari where the attempts to make a connection to the internet BEFORE network is up and running.

This is especially true when connecting with Airport which causes a delay and especially where using webmail.

Scenario:

A Mac Book goes to or is put to sleep with open browser windows. It is open/woke up. The browser attempts to refresh the webmail page, finds it cannot connect to the internet. Produces a whitepage error.

Soon after, the Mac is able to connect to the internet via wireless. The page refreshes again but the user has already been logged out etc. Happens on numerous sites.

Solution:

I think it would be more elegant if Safari/Webkit checked to see if it was up and running on the network/internet BEFORE refreshing pages, attempting to log etc. I think it is particularly a problem with Airport due to the delay factor.

Thanks. Excuse me I am not a developer or tech.
