We should do this, partly just to migrate more away from webkitpy.common.checkout.scm, which is old and bad and not really maintained. (Also, I have at least _something_ written here locally that I should push. It's lower priority than the exporter side, but it's easier to do and a good starting point for understanding what might be needed.)
