Can't enter control characters on Linode console

Summary
Can't enter control characters on Linode console

NOTE: this bug requires an active Linode account to reproduce. I recently needed to edit a text file on my Linode using the AJAX console. I use vim, and so needed to use ctrl-c or esc to switch from insert mode to normal mode. However, the Linode AJAX shell did not recognize either of these key sequences, meaning I could not save the file. This works fine in Firefox 3.5.

The Esc issue is likely a duplicate of
bug 18157
or
bug 25147
(which can be worked around by using keydown events). Without an account, there isn't much we can do to investigate this problem - but if this site works with IE and Firefox, there is no known reason that would prevent making it work with Safari, so moving to Evangelism for now.
