RESOLVED FIXED 268882
Web Inspector: Remember the message type selection in the Console tab

Summary Web Inspector: Remember the message type selection in the Console tab

Reported 2024-02-06 18:12:25 PST
In the web inspector Console tab, if you select a specific message type to be displayed, such as Errors, your selection is forgotten when you close and reopen the web inspector. I'd like to be able to permanently select a message type.

Created attachment 469979 [details] Screen recording of Console filters being remembered This should work. The Console Tab is supposed to remember the message type filter. I couldn't reproduce this issue (see attachment). Is there some set of steps or conditions where this happens? Which version of Safari and/or Safari Technology Preview are you trying with?

Safari 17.3.1 and STP 188 I think I've figured it out: I'm guessing that in your screen recording you're using the option-command-i keyboard shortcut to open the inspector? In my testing, I'm using option-command-c to open the console. That appears to be the difference. For some reason the option-command-c shortcut clears the setting.

That's right! I can reproduce this too using Option-Command-C. Thank you for the tip! This is a indeed a bug.
