Summary [GTK] In dark mode file loaded from disk are rendered completey in white

I use Epiphany 45.1 with WebKitGTK 2.42.3. I create a file a.html with this content: <!DOCTYPE html><html> <head> <style> :root { color-scheme: dark light } </style> </head> <body> <p>Hello, Peter!</p> </body> </html> I start epiphany a.html . When the desktop is in dark mode, epiphany does load a.html, but its content is only displayed, after I click on F5 (Refresh). Before F5 the view port is complety white. After F5 the background is black and the text is white. I close Epiphany and switch Gnome to light mode. Then I start epiphany a.html again. The content of the file a.html is displayed, without refreshing (white background, black text). As the MiniBrowser does ignore the light/dark desktop preference, this is not reproducible there. I do not have Safari to test. * Epiphany shall display the content of the file in dark mode, without the need to F5 (Reload) the file. The Epiphany bug report at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/epiphany/-/issues/1985 contains also this comment: This bug appears to affect more than files loaded from disk, e.g. in a new tab in dark mode, load https://duckduckgo.com/robots.txt and observe the page background is apparently in light mode, but the text in dark mode, then click refresh to see the background follow into dark mode. Note that the developer tools indicate <meta name="color-scheme" content="light dark"> is used in the HTML to render a text file. It only appears to be an issue on the first load of a page in any tab, i.e. if you load a page in a tab and then browse to (e.g. https://duckduckgo.com/robots.txt) in the same tab, the page is correctly rendered.
