(2009-06-10) OS: Windows, not tested on Mac Other Browsers: Chromium: Fail Firefox: OK IE8: OK Steps: 1. Launch Safari 2. Open the attached test file "Text_Style_in_optgroup_Tag.html" 3. Observe Result: Webkit doesn't use italic style for text in optgroup tag Expected: Should use italic style for text in optgroup tag as IE and Firefox

The italic style is not really something we want in Safari I think. It's ugly.

All browsers (Chrome Canary 106, Firefox Nightly 105 and Safari 15.6) render the test case fine and does not show "italic" optgroup tag. Since Firefox was rendering them italic previously and changed to other behavior. I am going to tag this as "RESOLVED INVALID" since Webkit / Safari didn't changed the behavior here. Also Chrome bug mentioned in

is also marked as CLOSED without any patch deployed to fix this.
