Description awe.media 2022-03-29 00:25:12 PDT
This is a follow on from https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=179363

Specifically comment 30 (https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=179363#c30) from youenn fablet

"If your particular use case is about capturing with both cameras, please file a new bug."

This prevents creating immersive web experiences that use both user and environment facing cameras at the same time. For example to capture the user's face and place that into their view of the world in front of them (e.g. on 3D models, etc.). Or to use face/gaze tracking while the user is looking at and interacting with the world in front of them.

Happy to provide more examples if required.

This functionality (e.g. gUM supports multiple cameras simultaneously) works as expected on Chrome Android.

A problem has been lingering for seven or eight years now. It seems that since Steve Jobs passed away, there's no one at Apple who can get things done properly. Today is August 13, 2024, and if I had a choice, I wouldn't be coming to this website
