Drag the map several times fairly rapidly in some direction.  Eventually, it will hang for a few seconds.  This does not happen in Firefox.

This happens in regular Safari as well as WebKit nightlies.

Thanks for the bug report.  The sample output shows that the application is hanging inside CFNetwork, a Mac OS X system framework, rather than inside WebKit itself.  I've migrated the bug in to Radar and pinged the appropriate team so that they can look in to it.  This bug report will be closed as INVALID due to the problem being outside of WebKit.
