Hi!

Please excuse me: I've a very rudimentary knowledge...

This is the situation and I hope to receive some assistance (I've tried both Google and Apple to no avail):

Sheets opens and scrolling (and moving the active cell) works, but the screen doesn't follow!

It works fine on Firefox and has only arisen since upgrading to Safari 15.

I'm running Catalina on an unsupported machine via DosDude's Patcher...

Shot 1: the active cell matched the info in the bar showing the cell number and contents

Shot 2: The active cell indicator is stuck on the second last cell vertically, but the bar indicates the active cell is the one below where the indicator is!

Shot 3: The indicator (highlighted cell) is still stuck at the second last cell, but th bar indicates the active cell is way further down.

If I use two fingers to scroll the scrollbars move, but the screen doesn't change?!?

I have discovered that if I click on 'Last edit was...' and then click 'back' the screen moves to the correct position! This doesn't happen when I 'Command R' - it's kind of like a 'Refresh lite'!

Unfortunately I don't understand how to use th 'Develop' and 'Debug' menus/options enough to find the error in the code...

If there is anyone out there willing to help/guide me through it, I'd be very grateful...

I've just come across another (I'm sure related) issue:

On another website when pop-up windows open the content is not displayed correctly until the window is resized...

Does this happen on Apple hardware?

"I'm running Catalina on an unsupported machine via DosDude's Patcher..."

That is, on a MacBookPro 5,2 (mid 2009).

Problem resolved via Doc editors help (support.google.com):

In the 'Develop Menu' (enabled under the 'Advanced' tab in Safari Preferences) uncheck Develop > Experimental Features > GPU Process: Canvas Rendering. Then close and re-open Safari.

Now the screen will follow the cursor! :-)

I'm not yet certain of how disabling Canvas Rendering will affect other websites...
