There are currently 3 synchronous IPC calls between the Web and GPU process in RemoteSourceBufferProxy messages:

CanSwitchToType
UpdateBufferedFromTrackBuffers
EvictCodedFrames

We should investigate to ensure those are absolutely necessary and remove them if possible.
