Currently is enabled for Safari desktop, but is not enabled for Safari mobile.

We also need this feature! We have to maintain 2 brances of code and 2 media repositories: HLS for iOS Safari, MSE all the other browsers. This is pain. iOS users also get worse UX. Our app is video interviewing software and we compile interviewer's video on the fly. HLS seek is a lot slower than what we can achieve prefetching chunks and building stream with MSE.

Note that MediaSource is already supported on iPadOS, but not on iOS.

Can we please get a response from Apple iOS Safari team as to when the very popular and very useful MediaSource API will be supported on iOS Safari? It is supported on nearly every other platform, including iPad Safari. If the team needs resources, please reach out to me. I can offer skilled software engineers to expedite this.

Since the time this specification was added. Not to mention the time that has passed since the first ticket was created in relation to this issue. In addition to the number of developers and users asking for this feature, as well as the possibility to use requestFullScreen on a document. I find it shameful and disrespectful from the Safari team to still not have answered. That the team is busy, I can understand it, but to have decided to ignore this problem for several years, no. I can't wait for the European Commission to force Apple to remove the iOS developer requirement that forces web browsers to use this Safari web view garbage. I recognize that the Safari team has worked very well on this new version of iOS (16.4), many bugs have been fixed, and lots of new features have been added. However, answering by indicating that this is "planned" or defining it in the list of features under development or "pending" on the site https://webkit.org/status/ would have been a good start.
