Description Alberto Garcia 2021-04-25 12:42:11 PDT
This was originally reported in the Debian bug tracker: https://bugs.debian.org/987448

The Liferea RSS reader uses CSS for displaying the post metadata, but this is broken after updating WebKitGTK from 2.30.6 to 2.32.0.

The problem can be reproduced trivially by simply launching the app and opening the first feed from the list.

Paul Wise provided screenshots of how Liferea looks before and after the upgrade:

I bisected this a little bit, the problem appeared between 2.31.1 and 2.31.90, so between r272401 and r273547

Sorry I was using the WPE revision number for 2.31.1 :)

So it should be between r271391 and r273547, fd710edd119d..525384eae975 in git.

Liferea added this fix upstream:

https://github.com/lwindolf/liferea/commit/0b199d75be2bc41575de71ed5b5e0a6aa08c30bd

Is it a Liferea bug then or a workaround for a WebKit bug ?

This regressed in r272469, but I'm afraid the new behavior is the right one.
Comment 5 Paul Wise 2021-04-27 06:21:57 PDT
I've reassigned the Debian bug report to liferea, I guess this issue can be closed wontfix.
Comment 6 Alberto Garcia 2021-04-27 06:54:24 PDT
Ok, closing bug then, thanks.
