Hello, I have raised the bug almost an year ago on chromium. The link to chromium regarding this bug request can be found below. The bug request got pushed to webkit, and its been more than 9 months since that happened. The bug request here is still stated as "UNCOMFIRMED" Can somebody please respond to this. Or atleast please reply with a comment (even if it only says - that's webkit: deal with it)

I can confirm this bug in the latest Chrome 8.0.552.210 beta build. This is an accessibility issue, people who need keyboard only support can not view all drop down options with the keyboard. Alt+UP/DOWN for select drop down boxes is standard behavior in IE, FF, and Opera and has been (in at least IE and FF afaik) for a very very long time. Could someone please look into it.

On the Mac version of Safari, <select> pop-ups are displayed when pressing the down arrow with or without Option. Sounds like a Windows-specific issue. Confirming by popular vote.

This is really an annoying accessibility issue. Note that it's not only about complying with other browsers, it's also about adhering to Windows platform standards. E.g.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/126449
says: ALT+DOWN ARROW: Opens a drop-down list box

I just found that F4 on Windows XP also opens the dropdown box in native applications. So I suggest it should open the dropdown box in WebKit as well.

OK, let's try tracking both key combinaitons in this bug. But generally, it's best to have a separate bug for every issue.

Actually, Alt+Down case is a duplicate of
bug 14407
. But F4 isn't being implemented there at the moment.
