Description Robert Baskette 2008-10-17 09:15:33 PDT
Using the GMAIL webmail interface, I attempted to attach a file to the message.
I clicked the 'attach file' link, dragged a file from an open Microsoft Office 2008 Excel title bar and dropped into the upload widget. The widget populated with the correct information about the file (name/size). Gmail has some sort of javascript notification that attempts to upload the file while the user continues to enter the message. This event did not fire in my case. Upon submitting the form (clicking the send button), the message appeared to have sent but the file did not get sent to the server and was not attached to my outgoing email.

As a control I repeated the identical process using stock Safari 3.1.2 (5525.20.1) and was able to upload the file and complete the email message without incident.

I have attached this report to both the Javascript and HTML DOM components as my best guess is either an event is not firing in Javascript or the element added to the DOM by the GMail engine were not accessibly from the Javascript DOM interface.
