3com Baseline Switch 2916-SFP Plus is a managed switch with a website on board to manage the machine. When running Safari 3.1.2 regular, all is well. When running WebKit, most part of the menu is not displayed. I can send some screenshots if you want to. I can not make the user interface public (as you might be able to imagine. If you need any extra information please ask. This what was displayed in the error console: Resource interpreted as other but transferred with MIME type text/css. This is going to be a tough one... Would it be possible for you to find the exact pair of WebKit revisions between which this has started to happen? E.g., if this works in r29058 from 2008-01-01, but works in today's revision, you could try a revision from May'2008 and so on, each time dividing the range in halves.

I was lucky, only 8 downloads ;-). It started between R36108 from 2008-09-05 and R36113 from 2008-09-05. 36108 works fine, 36113 gives the wrong results.

The only suspicious change in this range is <http://trac.webkit.org/projects/webkit/changeset/36109> (When a resource is cached locally, WebKit should follow RFC 2616 "Specific end-to-end revalidation" instead of "Unspecified end-to-end revalidation").

Could you check if this still happening after r37753 (https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21763)?

I am unable to find the website on Wayback Archive to reproduce this issue and sure, if we had an issue based on latest Safari version, we would have another by now or ticket. We are unable to dig much for 2008 bug, so I think logical conclusion would be 'RESOLVED WONTFIX' (since it was never confirmed) but assuming Web browsers and others are evolved a lot. I hope it was fixed.
