For https://wpt.fyi/results/css/css-fonts/variations/variable-opsz.html?label=experimental&label=master&aligned and the contained test font variabletest_box.ttf [1], WebKit nightly does not apply the correct opsz value to the variation axis. The font does not contain a STAT table, which according to discussions with Myles is the reason CoreText does not apply the opsz value. The test passes in FireFox and Chromium Canary. In https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=197528#c4 Myles mentioned creating a test font to test optical sizing would be useful. In this sense, this WPT test font provides the desired testing and may be helpful to test opsz in WebKit in general. This is due to CoreText not handling STAT-less variable fonts correctly. <rdar://problem/55385856>
