Go to http://www.shacknews.com/ and click on a story (like http://www.shacknews.com/laryn.x?story=53789) Click on the comments link for the page. Click on the 'New Comment Button'. Click the Post button. Click "OK" when the alert comes up telling you you need to be logged in. Reload the page (control-R) Notice how the alert is back after reload! Safari 4dp on the Mac as well as FF3 do no show this alert. Safari 4dp for windows *does* show this alert on reload.
