Hi, NPN_GetValue() with a NULL instance should be valid for NPNVToolkit and NPNVSupportsXEmbedBool. Some plugins depends on this to select their backends. This is true at least for gnash (code inspection) and nspluginwrapper (functionality test). Comment from commit r32766 suggests that this *might* be true for Acrobat Reader too. A patch was proposed as attachment #20888 [details] to bug #14750. Marc intends to fix it differently though.
