Summary REGRESSION (3.0 - 3.1): Dojo layout test page hangs Webkit window
Adam Peller
Reported 2008-05-05 14:13:16 PDT
The following page hangs the Webkit window and all tabs in it in Safari version 3.1+ (as well as the Webkit nightly r32877) but works fine in Safari 3.0. http://download.dojotoolkit.org/current-stable/dojo-release-1.1.0/dijit/tests/layout/test_BorderContainer_complex.html A simpler version which still hangs the browser is posted in Dojo ticket #6444 (must be placed in a the Dojo source tree at dijit/tests/layout) http://trac.dojotoolkit.org/attachment/ticket/6444/test_BorderContainer_complex.html

"Hangs" in what sense? I loaded the URL you provided and Safari 3.1.1 did not hang for me.

The application itself does not appear to hang -- the menus are still operational, and I can open and close browser windows. But the browser window with this url is frozen: the page does not finish rendering, and I cannot use the prev/next controls or type a new url. Do you see this? I've confirmed this behavior with several users.

Marking this as confirmed based on comments on IRC, I'm unable to reproduce this on Leopard, so it appears this is a Tiger-only regression.

Seems to only happen on Tiger, not Leopard. Most of the chrome either becomes unresponsive or doesn't draw, and resizing the window triggers a multitude of exciting display artifacts. Attaching a screenshot of the initial display on 10.4.11. Updated URL: http://download.dojotoolkit.org/current-stable/dojo-release-1.1.0/dijit/tests/layout/test_BorderContainer_complex.html

Also not reproducible on Vista.
