When in fullscreen mode, I can drag the media controls around the window. That's not good.

Why is it not good?
Well it looks kinda ridiculous, right? I think the media controls should not be a drag source.
I don't think neither of us is an usability expert, so our personal opinions don't make much sense, regarding this issue anyway. I know at least another app behaving like the current controls, VLC allows its fullscreen controls to be moved around. Anyway, adding Xabier in CC, as he worked on the media controls stuff.
Neither Chrome nor Firefox allows dragging their (far nicer) media controls. There are no media controls at all in Ephy Tech Preview right now, bug #194367.
(In reply to Michael Catanzaro from comment #5) > Neither Chrome nor Firefox allows dragging their (far nicer) media controls. > > There are no media controls at all in Ephy Tech Preview right now, bug > #194367. Media controls are not draggable in WebKitGTK 2.23.91, Fedora 30.
It's not draggable in our jhbuild MiniBrowser, either. Closing.
I can drag the fullscreen media controls here in GTK's MiniBrowser.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
IIRC, there was a controls drag&drop test that we failed because our controls were not draggable in non full screen mode so seeing this does not surprise me and I think it could even be something desirable. Anyway, even when controls are something multimedia related, they are just a bunch of CSS and JavaScript that can be easily rewritten by non multimedia people. I'm available for reviews. Another thing is that these controls were designed by Jon McCann. If we want new controls, we should get them designed and then we could think of rewriting them.
Media controls are specific to the port, not the multimedia backend.
