"Login with Facebook" in the Instagram "App Shell"

"Login with facebook" or "Login with google" are very common use cases on web. On home screen apps tapping on these links these navigate to safari and there is no way to redirect back the original app shell to login.

Steps to reproduce on Instagram.com
1. Open Instagram.com
2. Add to Homescreen.
3. Open Instagram from App icon
4. Try to Login with Facebook.

This seems like a broken experience for a prevalent use case. Thoughts on how to mitigate or fix this?
Note: Google Chrome addresses this by opening external urls in Chrome Custom Tabs in PWAs (Progressive Web Apps) with standalone mode and can redirect the original url back to app shell.

Thanks!

The fix for this issue was needed outside the WebKit project, therefore this is being resolved as 'Moved'.

This should now be fixed in shipping software.
