It would be interesting to be able to modify the offset on the stroke of text, you may have a look at the link for an example image. Maybe the offset could be positive or negative, so the stroke would be pushed out of the initial shape, or inside it.

Ned, is this covered in the CSS3 spec or another web standard? If not, you may want to petition (send email) to the appropriate working group to get this approved.

David, what I'm suggesting isn't described in any W3C standard, but text-stroke isn't in CSS either, so we're out of the scope of standards here.

The website above is no longer accessible, and the CSS text standards have since incorporated some aspects of this concept.
