Please use iPhone e.g iPhone 6s Plus. I test with iOS 9.3 Safari.
Open Safari and go to this site http://forum.nplayer.tv
You can see the mobile site. Now tap desktop mode. Not working (responsive website).

On iPad 4 no problem. iPhone 6s Plus has better hardware as my old iPad 4 but the iPad can show this responsive website in original desktop mode.

webkit not support for Smartphone original desktop mode for responsive website.

On my Android Smartphone Nexus 5 with Firefox 45 no issue = Gecko is has this feature show on Smartphone responsive website the original desktop mode

The web site isn't using User Agent detection to serve a mobile site; it appears to just be using media queries, as a responsive site should. So I think it's behaving correctly. You can see this if you load the site in Mac Safari and make the window narrow.

I don't know how Gecko does "request desktop site".

Here https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Apps/Progressive/Responsive/responsive_design_building_blocks

On Gecko is not perfect, the numbers missing (bug)

See my image here "Safari iPad Version (show in this case the numbers) vs Firefox on Android (Part 2).

Please add this Feature to Safari iPhone Version.

Better is:
You add the option from Safari OS X to Safari iOS
''Enter Responsive Design Mode''
