I had a look into this report due to experiencing my own issues with columns. In producing a reduced test case for this issue I *appear* to have revealed the layout bug here is caused by text-shadow. Reduced test case here: http://codepen.io/mkstix6/pen/oBmvPB. Hope this helps.
