The image which does not work

I have 2 images both with the dimensions 5616 X 3744.

When I try to open them in Safari 7.1 and Webkit - nightly build 13-10-2014, one of them displays ok and then other just displays a black box.

When I check the console I get this message when I try and view the one which doesn't render correctly:
14/10/2014 13:08:03.620 com.apple.WebKit.WebContent.Development[27937]: CoreAnimation: 5616 by 3744 image is too large for GPU, ignoring

I have checked in Safari 6.0.2 and I don't get the problem.

Why is there a difference in behaviour between both files?
