Go to the url, and widen the window - I have a 23" Cinema display, and made the window as wide as the display (expect for the dock, which is on the right). The test in this section overlaps the Phylogenetic Tree of Life picture. Tested with r21427.

This is not a regression, as it also happens with shpping Safari.

My typing skills eluded me today. From comment 1:

Verified with a local debug build of WebKit r21427 with Safari 2.0.4 (419.3) on Mac OS X 10.4.9 (8P135).

This occurs on shipping Safari 2.0.4 (419.3) on Mac OS X 10.4.9 (8P135) as well, so it's not a regression.

Note that it is is not required to have a Wikipedia account to see the overlap (which is how the "[edit]" links appear), but it helps.

This appears to be fixed in shipping Safari with Leopard, so should probably be closed, as I am now unable to reproduce it.

Strane, someone has complained about this bug on IRC a few days ago, and I was able to reproduce it with TOT (on Tiger). The URL was <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Integrated_Truss_Structure#Solar_arrays>.

The behavior I see at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Integrated_Truss_Structure#Solar_arrays

is different than that I originally reported, in that when I make the page for this URL as wide as possible, the problem doesn't show, but when I make the page thinner, the overlapping text problem does show. Note, the page for the original bug url is not allowed to be edited at the moment, so that may be affecting how it looks. Also, may be related to bug 15956.

The misplaced "[edit]" link for the "Solar Arrays" section is probably the same issue as Bug 15956.

I also see only 1 line of text that (sometimes) overlaps the top of one of the International Space Station photos (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:ISS_after_STS-120_in_November_2007.jpg). Not sure if that's related to the "[edit]" link issue or not.

Really looks like a duplicate of #15956, it's still a float:right whether it's an image or an [edit] link.
Comment 10 Gavin Sherlock 2009-03-22 08:28:44 PDT
It is also very evident in:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cung_Le

though behavior in the latest nightly is somewhat different in 3.2.1. In 3.2.1, the picture is on top of the text it obscures, but in the latest nightly, the text is painted on top of the picture. That change in behavior occurred between r41176 and r41242.

This isn't happening anymore in any of the examples provided.
