Safari rendering cue settings

It seems to me that the "align" cue setting is ignored.
It also seems that the width calculation for cues is wrong when the position setting is used.

I'm attaching a screenshot for Chrome, where it works, and one of Safari.

The WebVTT excerpt used in the example is:
WEBVTT

00:00:08.124 --> 00:00:10.742 line:0 position:10% align:left
Workstations

00:00:08.124 --> 00:00:10.742 line:50% position:50%
and high end personal computers
