As demonstrated in the example here: http://codepen.io/sathomas/pen/FEkuz

When the scale transform is combined with a box shadow, the shadow is rendered appropriately as long as the scale is less than or equal to 2. If the scale is greater than 2, the shadow is not rendered at all.
